Even though education is a major theme that sustains Heritage Day, fun and enjoyment are also a priority. There will be a variety of musical events featuring the Taters and the Atkinsons as well as other local talent.
Many organizational booths, selling craft items and homemade products, will be available for those wishing to do some early holiday shopping. For shoppers, lots of parking space will be available (thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Charles P. Francisco) and the parking situation is much less of a hassle than at the Short Pump Mall. You will probably find items in Beaverdam that you cannot find at the mall. It is most important to recognize the small group of Board members and committee chairs that meet monthly throughout the year to keep the flame of Heritage Day glowing. However, there are important sponsors that contribute and others who work behind the scene to provide many resources needed for this important event. The Gayle and the Trainham families have provide field space for 11 years to make this event possible All of these things are sincerely appreciated and attempts are made to recognize and thank these groups and individuals in various ways. You can see that there are many reasons to visit western Hanover County and the Beaverdam Heritage Days Foundation would like to extend each visitor a very warm welcome. We hope to see you at Heritage Day 2008. The Beaverdam Heritage Days Committee |
